Today's Digital Scrapbook Place blog prompt is:
Describe a 'sound' from your childhood. What was it? When did you hear it? What does it bring to mind?
The first thing that came to mind when I read the prompt was - the bells and music coming from the "DillyBar-Man"'s ice cream truck. {Funny that we called him the DillyBar-Man!}. It was a very hot summer afternoon and my dad and grandpa were looking at cars. We heard the ice-cream truck coming and grandpa said he would treat me to an ice cream treat. I picked out an orange dreamsicle. Grandpa told me not to put my tongue on the dreamsicle right away because it would stick - well, I remember thinking - oh he's crazy ... I licked the side of the cold ice cream and sure enough (!) my tongue was stuck tight!! Lesson learned: wait a few moments before diving in to that ice cold dreamsicle on a hot hot day --- and, always do what grandpa says! LOL!
